Introducing Mark Newman

  Mark Newman is a professional sculptor with over 15 years of experience, working primarily as a commercial artist, maquette and model maker, prototype designer for many collectibles & toys companies as well as few game and FX studios.
  The picture at the left shows a prototype made for Sideshow Collectibles original "Court Of The Dead" series. Cleo is sculpted in Super Sculpey, 1/4 scale, designed by Tom Jilesen and Mark Newman, concept design by Tom Gilliland.
  Besides commercial art projects, Mark works on his fine art bronze sculptures in his studio Mark Newman Sculpture Inc.  in California.


 As a gesture of respect towards his art, I collected some of his most exquisite commercial sculptures as well as his finest bronzes in this post.

Storm

 In my opinion, one of the best interpretations of famous Marvel character. The picture shows 1/4 scale painted collectible. Original is sculpted in Super Sculpey for Sideshow Collectibles

Tuskgee Airman

12" tall sculpture called "Tuckgee Airman" from The Ebony Visions collection, designed by Thomas Blackshear. Sculpted in Super Sculpey Classic/Firm mixture used by many artists for prototyping. The Oxygen mask is sculpted in wax/oil clay with hose made of aluminum wire.

Gollum

18" tall original sculpture of Gollum, made for Sideshow Collectibles by Mark Newman. Gollum is sculpted in Super Sculpey Classic/Firm mixture. The collectible comes with two swappable torsos, Gollum and Smeagol, both originally sculpted by Mark.

Hornjaw

6" tall Hornjaw, sculpted in Chavant medium.. Mark shows exceptional talent and skill in all of his artwork, regardless of media type. Hornjaw is sculpted in oil clay from Chavant and hopefully will be available as resin cast on Mark's website.

Kratos

Kratos sculpture, commissioned by Sony. They produced 100 of Kratos painted statues for the members of team who originally created "The God Of War" game.

Bronze Sculptures

Bronze sculpture made with traditional techniques. This is a picture from Mark's website and, unfortunately there is no detail description.
