Clockpunk World of Sue Beatrice

"The band of keen figures on the clockpunk stage inherited by the dreadful masters of coin-operated brass puppets frozen in Heideggerian concepts of time, reassembled back into mechanism operating on the very basic level of human consciousness - mechanism that was implemented into fundamental relations between humans and their habitat." - it has been written to Time Traveler's log files after his machine encountered wonderful art of Susan Sue Beatrice.
What the he was trying to say is that Susan's artwork reaches beyond the simple retrofuturistic clockpunk fashion, particularly the evolved modern "Gears and Goggles" steampunk aesthetics she has often been identified with. A greater idea dwells beneath the front level of Susan's art.

The principle of reusing and repurposing instead of disposing and accumulating old nonfunctional mechanical gadgets, is subtly present in all of her whimsical creations. She creates and assembles her clever little sculptures out of old discarded watch parts, gears and sprockets, brass dividers, old locks and the variety of other forgotten mechanisms.

Her creations are "earth-friendly and artistic items sensitive to the limits of our natural resources." she states in her Facebook fan page - All Natural Arts. All Natural Arts is started by a Susan as a venue for selling her own creations, some of which are available for purchase at her website or through her Etsy shop. - "All Natural Arts is a creative outlet aside from my commercial sculpting which is often for licensed characters and overseen by art directors." Her commercial sculpting career includes professional sculpting and business relations with Sony, Disney, Dreamworks, Jim Henson Production, Warner Bros. and many more.

With all due respect to the licensed marketplace, this blog post is mainly about Susan's original creations from All Natural Arts venue, therefor i gathered here some of her most beautiful sculptures from All Natural Arts.

Clockpunk bunny.

Steampunk fairy balanced on a clock spring

Tiny motorcycle.

Steam-powered locomotive.

One of many watch parts sculptures.

The pendulum on the watch parts sculpture of Edgar Allan Poe actually moves back and forth.
